How does the whole thing work?

Search for "Digital Music Distribution" in our store under "Digital Services" or enter "Digital Music Distribution" directly in the search bar. You can then choose between two of our digital distribution options:

  • Publication and distribution on over 150 online platforms bzw. Vertrieb auf über 150 Online-Plattformen

  • EAN/GTIN Code included
  • Annual payout, depending on turnover.

Album Digital-Release

For an Album
(Up to 99 songs, maximum playing time of 80 minutes)

  • Receive 100% of all proceeds
  • Publication and distribution on over 150 online platforms bzw. Vertrieb auf über 150 Online-Plattformen
  • All ISRC codes included
  • EAN/GTIN Code included
  • Annual payout, depending on turnover.

Once you have chosen and ordered an option, we will need the following information:

1) Upload the audio data as .WAV files directly in our store!

  • A quality of (stereo, 24 bit and 192 kHz) is recommended.
Attention applies only to digital distribution. CD pressing only max 16 bit/44.1 kHz!
  • Alternatively, of course, you can use audio CD quality (stereo, 16 bit, 44.1 kHz)
  • MD5 checksums check
It makes sense to create an MD5 checksum of the .WAV files before you send them to us and upload the MD5 file to us for verification, but this is not as critical for the digital release as the CD pressing, because if you find that a track has been damaged during transfer, it can still be replaced. But to avoid unnecessary problems or delays, we strongly recommend that you send us an MD5 checksum.

2) Upload the cover image / artwork for the stores. Please note the following guidelines:

  • JPG, PNG or GIF file with a maximum size of 10MB
as an RGB file even if the cover is black and white.
  • 3000x3000 pixels, 72 DPI, but at least 1600x1600 pixels.
iTunes in particular wants 3000x3000 pixels.

  • A perfect square.
  • The cover must not be blurred, pixelated or contain white bars, e.g. a white border all around or similar.
  • Title and artist must match 100%.
For example, if you write your album title or artist name in the meta information as follows: Gèrard, then it must be exactly the same on the cover (upper/lower case + apostrophe)
  • No additional information or "stickers".
No social links, contact information, third-party logos, price information or stickers such as "NEW" may appear on the cover.
  • Only if you are the author.
If your cover contains images/photos/logos/caricatures etc. of third parties for which you do not own the copyrights, it will of course be rejected. You must own 100% of the image rights.

3) Please fill in the requested meta information.

You will find the form for this under "Enter album information" in the customer account when you "open" the order or as a separate e-mail.

  • It is important that you include all songwriters / authors of the song if you are not the sole author.
  • If you do not have ISRC / EAN codes, we will provide them.
  • Optionally, you can also send the lyrics for e.g. Instagram etc.
  • Optionally, you can also tell TikTok when your track should start.

Further information:

  • Release date / desired release date
Please note that the stores need 2-3 weeks lead time. In the best case, we send everything 3 weeks before the planned release with the release date, then it works without any problems. Anything less can still work, but there is no guarantee.
  • Immediate release
It also usually takes 1-2 weeks for all stores, whereby the big ones like iTunes, Spotify and co. show the releases after just a few days.
  • Connect artist profile (Spotify/Youtube) with Release.
This works in principle, but sometimes takes months, as this "connection" is checked manually. We have no influence on this process. If you would like this, please contact us.
  • Duplicate artist name
Check beforehand whether your artist name is already being used by a third party. If this is the case, please let us know so that we can inform the platforms. Nevertheless, we cannot rule out the possibility that your album will be displayed under the "foreign" artist for the time being. It may take months for this to be rectified. This is not in our hands. In such a case, it may be better to use a variation or, if in doubt, to be patient.
