Do I need a delivery permit (formerly GEMA exemption?
YES and NO, depends on the works you use.
If you (you) are the sole author of the works or have created the song text and composition yourself, do not use any third-party works in your composition and are not a GEMA member, then it is sufficient for us if you confirm this to us "You are in possession of the copyright to the reproduction of the data/sound material and in the course of producing printed matter you do not infringe any image or trademark rights of third parties or use them without permission." (This makes it convenient and legally binding at the end of the ordering process.)
You can find out more about this under “Legal / Copyright” or simply click here.
Otherwise we need delivery approval from GEMA. (In the shop, at the end of the ordering process, simply select "We have applied for a delivery permit from GEMA.") By the way, it would make sense if you first ordered the product, then filled out the delivery permit, stating the order number we provided, and sent it to GEMA . This has the advantage that we can assign the subsequent delivery approval and start production in advance. (Of course, delivery only takes place if the delivery authorization is available.)
Note: We and GEMA routinely carry out tests on productions. If you (you) have granted us an exemption (by confirming to us that you (you) are the author(s) or have the rights to reproduce them), it should then turn out that your production is copyright of third parties contains protected artists/materials, then this will be tracked and you assume full liability. Therefore, in your own interest, you should only use it if you know exactly what you are doing and are really the sole author.
