Proof print

What is a proof print?

A proof print is a preliminary version of a printed product created before the final mass production. Its purpose is to identify errors, check print quality, and ensure that the final product meets expectations.

Color accuracy

It is important to note that color reproduction on a screen may differ from the printed result. A screen emits light, while paper only reflects it. This can cause colors on the screen to appear differently than on printed material. For example, color perception can vary depending on whether natural daylight or artificial lamp light is present.

In summary: Do not rely solely on your screen as a reference for colors, as the printed result may differ.

What options do we offer here?

All proofing options are not color-binding, as variations can always occur. Even the paper used can lead to variations due to fluctuating quality.

Simple proof print on A3 sheet

Price: 20.00 EUR net or 23.80 EUR incl. VAT

A simple proof print is created directly from the digital printing machine without color calibration or adjustment to the specific paper or material. However, such a proof offers a cost-effective way to roughly estimate the direction of colors. Particularly for smaller quantities under 300 pieces, it is often surprisingly accurate, especially when using standard materials such as chromo cardboard with a glossy finish.

Digital proof with media wedge on A3 sheet

Price: 45.00 EUR net or 53.55 EUR incl. VAT

The digital proof with a media wedge is also an output from a digital printing or plotting machine. Here, an attempt is made to adjust the colors and print result to resemble the final offset printing. The digital proof is suitable for material variants like Dispo Gloss - Dispo Matt and only to some extent for glossy foil lamination. It should be noted that foil lamination is not simulated. The color values are often close to the final result but may vary. However, the digital proof provides a good opportunity to achieve color accuracy of approximately 95%.

Offset print proof

Price: 130 EUR net or 154.70 EUR incl. VAT

The offset print proof is particularly recommended for materials such as Inside-Out or recycling cardboard, as these are uncoated paper types. Uncoated paper absorbs ink more strongly. If the screen is used as a reference for colors, this can lead to disappointments. It is advisable to book this proof, especially if you have no experience with these materials and particularly when using intricate patterns or photos, such as a sky with specific shades of blue.
